Has anyone found anything new about repairing the modem? Or replacing it with an external?

Have you seen this thread?

I've been reading that thread, and followed the instructions to the part where my K2952C chip appears bad...it would be nice if someone figured a way to connect an external modem, that was more reliable than the internal in the box now...

I found out the external modem was not going to be a plug n play thing. I went ahead and replaced that box with an open box 30hr from BB and an extended warranty...Unit was $125..warranty was $70 for 4 years, modems won't be an issue for a while...

Have you figured out any other repair ways? If you did, do you mind to share? I read the whole thead before number of times, looks interesting and I will try to fix a modem problem I have on one of the SA.

:D 9th Tee is now selling the Official ElectricLegs Modem Repair Kits. We now have a web page with diagrams to determine if one of the kits we offer will fix your modem problem. The page is at http://www.9thtee.com/tivomodemrepair.htm . It is pretty easy to determine with a VOM if these kits will help.

I didn't want to let go of it, I mean, everyone should have 3, right? I read your posts on the avs forum, electriclegs, and I'm gonna buy your kit and see if I can fix it...I was holding off, 'cause I wanted to make sure you got the rewards for your efforts, and I didn't want to support anyone ripping you off...You are getting a piece of the 9th Tee sets, right?:)
