Folks,

I know I'm new here, and you don't know me yet. But is that a good reason not to respond to my request. I'm suprised, and kind of disappointed that no one even replied pointing me to the right direction.

I hope I'll have a better experience in the future, I've heard so much about this community, and been reading the posts for a while. But never thought that I wouldn't get a response if I post something.

Come on, we must help eachother, otherwise there will be no point of having this technology in place.

First, the facts...

1) You are new here and nobody knows you.
2) For some reason you don't have a backup of your tivo.
3) You posted the same question twice in 8 minutes asking someone to give you a copy of an image.
4) Tivo Inc. has stated that they don't want anyone to distribute their intellectual property and would take action if necessary to prevent it.
5) You waited one day and then complained that nobody helps around here even though there are thousands of posts of helpful information.

So let me see if I understand your question..
"Why won't anybody help you?"

Here are some possibilities...
1) Nobody has had time to respond to you yet.
2) Nobody has read your message that has an image available.
3) Nobody is willing to put themselves in a legal bind for you.

Those are just the possibilites that come to mind. I am sure there are others.

I appreciate your comments, but I could see the message was reviewed by many people, and also noticed the same exact requests were replied to. In some cases by many!

It's fine, I don't want to put anyone in a legal bind for me, neither I ever had the intention of doing so !!! I thought restoring an image of a system that I own shouldn't be a problem. I'm not adding or removing anything, it's only a restore. Besides, when these equipments are manufactured, identical images were loaded, so someone else's back up should be as legal as mine. I mean I don't see any difference between backing up my own image, or backing up someone elses image, unless the have modified the image.

But this is just my take, I understand the reality is less friendly.

It's not a problem but you are entitled to NOTHING.

You are way out of line to bitch and moan about the fact that nobody replied to your request for a handout, especially because you have offered nothing in return.

There is a image begging thread for a reason, go beg and wait for someone to be generous. Or try to find an image with bittorrent or something like that. Being lazy and whining will get you no where I can tell you that...it may have the effect of no one helping you at all.
