I am about ready to Hack a T60 - Series 1. My goal in doing this is to remove a large number of already recorded shows -- delete them and then record unscrambled from that point on.
So I wanted to learn from anyone who has done the same --
My outline of apprpoach is this:
A) Install turbonet
1) Use Steve Jenkins approach for newbies
2) Install unscramble.o
3) Extract and then delete recorded shows
4) remove unscramble.o
5) Install the permanent fix for scrambling (described by AlphaWolf)
QUESTION -- should I install the fix by AlphaWolf before ever putting unscramble.o on?
As it will take me awhile to get off all the shows -- this would allow me to keep recording new material unscrambled - is this correct?
MANUAL APPROACH VS SEMI-AUTOMATED
I chose to use the manual buildup describe by Steve Jenkins for serveral reasons
1) I can follow directions
2) I understand his directions
3) I think I will learn more by doing it a step at a time and be able to correct problems that might emerge late on
4) its unclear to me if I take an alternate approach ie (Sleepres iso) if I am able to save my alread recorded shows?
QUESTION:
If you go the iso approach -- are you able to maintain already recorded/scrambled shows and extract them?
though I have several other TIVO's to do and I am thinking that the "iso" approach will speed everyting up?
