View Full Version : Trying to Telnet via Ethernet on a Hacked HDVR2

I am using a USB wired network card to get into my HDVR2 box..

I can ping, ftp and tivoweb with no problems..

But I have tried Telnet from DOS command and Hyperterminal and it will not connect.. I get connection failed...

If this is posted somewhere else, I apologize.. I tried searching but kept coming up with nothing to help...

My system was hacked with Monte.

Thanks

Via serial cable.

If you don't have one, get one. 9th tee has them for reasonable price.

Search keywords : bash serial

Where do I enter that command at.

Thanks for your help so far...

I tried that command..

It spit out some info and rebooted linux..

It did not fix the problem...

I may have given you the wrong error.

The error I get is:

Telnet Error [10061]
Unable to connect to : 192.168.0.200 (yes, this is the correct IP)
The host refused the connection!

I am able to Telnet with the Serial cable with no problem...

What he was trying to do is get you to see if the telnet server was running. The "info" that it spit out was important in diagnosing what was happening, it was not meant to "fix" the problem.

Sorry, I misunderstood... I thought when he meant results. He wanted to know if that fixed it..

So I guess if I can get to the BASH via Serial.. That doesn't mean I can by Telnet... :(

Here are the results from the PS AUX, I left the information after the reboot. I have that saved if needed...

Thanks again

First a bit of linux knowledge for you. The | character (pipe) is used on the linux command line to send the standard output from the call on the left side of the pipe in as standard input on the right side of the call (I think, if not someone fix my inaccuracy). The line ps -aux | grep tnlited says to list all of processes running including the auxillary ones but only show the lines that contain tnlited. It does this by having ps -aux list the processes and pass that output into grep which then searches for all the lines that contain tnlited and only displaying those. The command is entered all on the same line as a single command.

Anyways on to the results of the whole issue, since my web browser can search, which say that you do not have tnlited (the telnet server) running on your tivo.
