I have hacked my tivo using sleepers ISO and are ready to access unsing bash.

My question is when I connect the tivo to the comport using the serial port to com connections( I bought from 9thtee), then turn on the tivo, what is the first thing I should see, and how do I exactly do I go to the proper file to edit it.

Is it like windows explorer, which I can scroll through and edit the file.
Are there any instructions on using bash.

Also is there something that I should see and also something I need to do to see stuff. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

I suggest you use the search feature of this forum. You are asking some pretty basic things! This post should be moved to newbie section...

You will need to connect to the tivo using terminal software on the PC. When the connection is up you will see debug output from the tivo (if everything is good) and if you hit enter a bash prompt will be displayed. This prompt is a command line where you can type in linux commands. You should search online for a primer on the linux command line and it will answer your questions.

In a way its like dos, but more advanced and not quite the same.
