Ok, I read and read and read all these posts, and nowhere have I found what I need in order to start hacking. I mean, what cables? what programmer? what do I need? I got a Sony T60 from my brother who works at a store in the back and got it from service. I dont need to watch anything on my computer, I just want it to work so I can hook it up to my tv and record without a phone line plugged into it. So what do I have to do? Do I take out the HD in the tivo and do something with it? If I dont have to, Do I hook up any particular cable from my PC to the Tivo to write to it? I'm serious, I'm a total n00b to Tivo. Like I said, I just want to watch TV and record it. I can care less about any other feature. I have software version 2.0 I only see stuff for version 2.5 and up... how can I get it to 2.5 or 3.1 etc from 2.0? Thanks for the help.
