OK, here's the situation. I have a DSR704 that I had to wipe out and redo recently. I messed up the install from Sleeper's ISO in the following ways:
1) 3.1.1 instead of 3.1.1b before starting
2) Commented out kmem thinking I could put in noscramble2
3) Didn't get a net adapter for a while
Anyway, with 3.1.1 and not 3.1.1b, I knew I had to wipe the system... so I got my net adapter and put on mfs_ftp. Read around that tmf was a good format to pull off for archival and restoral, so I ftp'd all the tmfs to my PC for safekeeping.
Wiped the system with a virgin 3.1.1b image, did a "delete everything" just in case, monte'd and hacked successfully, updated mfs_ftp tivowebplus vserver blah blah...
Now whenever I go to put the tmfs back on, they won't play. I saw a post that said something about the disk keys had to be right, but I can't for the life of me find anything that points me in the direction of understanding what it is that I need to do.
I also saw a post from stevel saying that he had luck inserting as ty+ instead of tmf. I tried taking a recording and using tmf2ty (not sure if that's just ty and not ty+?), took output and tried inserting as just a ty - no go. Renamed to ty+, tried inserting - no go. Seems that no matter what, my insertions are showing up as 0 bytes even though they are transferring...
System is a DSR704 3.1.1b monte'd with noscramble2 patch. Current recordings are unscrambled, and I want to put some old scrambled tmfs back on the same system they came from.
Anyone with a greater understanding can point me in the right direction?
