I read this on some site and i tought who posted it was funny
read it
"I called Buy.com and this is what they told me.
1) He told me that they are a dot com and the situation is Really Vollitile. They need the $50 back from people and they will report you to the three major credit agencies if they dont get it right away.
2) In addition, they will have your name printed in your local newspapers and church bulletins as a bad debtor.
3) If you still dont pay, they will send letters to your parents, nieghbors co workers etc explaining the situation and asking for their help collecting the money that is owed to them.
4) Next step Buy.com will protest outside your house with signs calling you names if you dont pay.
5) If you still dont pay, Buy.com told me they would have no choice but to send you to debtors prison. A friend of mine's brother went to debtors prison in North Carolina on a count of unpaid late fees at Blockbuster and believe me it is no picnic. He is still there!!!
I urge everybbody who used this coupon to send Buy.com whatever money they ask for, immediately. They are concerned and it sounds like they really mean it.

I've never had a good experience with these idjits. This was years ago, mind you, and they may be different now, but man did I hate them.
I'd order something advertised for a cheap price, in one case a sound card and in another a hard drive, and get hit with a $17 shipping fee for a 1.5 pound item. (UPS Ground, no less.) The price was still within reason, so I went ahead.
They billed my credit card immediately, but since they didn't have stock did not ship the item for a month. In the instance of the hard drive which was needed to repair a necessary system I cancelled the order and placed another from Outpost. (Remember when Outpost had free next-day shipping on everything? That was so sweet.) A month later they ship anyway and I realize too late that there was no chargeback on my card.
I do know, though was never directly trapped by Buy.com's practices of bait and switch. Search around a bit and you'll find any number of sob stories.
A 4 year old thread back to life, that must be a record
BTW, I don't like buy.com that much :p
