i have looked all over cant find help with ide cable. i'm sorry if i overlooked this. ca some one please tell me if you can use any pc ide cable in the tivo system.

pretty much yes, you can use any cable. the only thing to be careful with is if you use one of the 80 wire cables, make sure that the end going into the tivo mb doesn't have a pin hole blocked. if it does, you need to remove that plug. it's pin 20 iirc.
