Ok, I've done a few dsr6000 s1 dtivo's, now a buddy is asking me to fixup his dvr40 (rid) unit..

I am having a hard time getting good info inbetween bashing threads between fellows who say this does or doesn't work, I need to know what really does..

I would prefer to do this without the hardware mod, but will do it if it's required.

Right now he just wants the thing activated, later he wants me to add a turbonet.

What's working?

i'm trying to find more info on this also, but's you're right it's hard to find.
there are a couple guys selling modded ones on ebay with all the mods i'd want which is nearly all of them and they said they do monte when i asked them..
