View Full Version : Dsr7000 Can't login

I have a Dsr7000 I was able to ftp to my PC. Now I am not able to login to port 3105 which is the one I used before. I can however get into port21. I have even tried scanning the ports but I am unable to get in. What am I doing wrong? Did something happen to my tivo. Is there anyway I can just install the ftp again? If I hack my drive again do I lose all my recordings?

Port 3105 is used by mfs_ftp. Make sure you're using a compatible FTP program like SmartFTP as many FTP programs won't work with mfs_ftp. If you can telnet into your Tivo type in "ps x" at the bash prompt and check the list of currently running applications to see if mfs_ftp is running on the Tivo. If not then you can restart it manually from bash.

It's not 3150. It IS 3105.

It probably isn't running as the Cap'n said.

Apparently the tivoscripts 1.02 iso sets it as 3150, not 3105. I am able to login to mine using 3150.

I don't think so. It never made it 3150 on any units I use it on.

If you see mfs_ftp on port 3150 you should do a complete reinstall with the newest version. The bad port version was installed by early tivoscripts (1.01 and earlier) and is not good. It can even corrupt your mfs on insert.

Again, do a complete reinstall from the newest mfs_ftp distribution in the mfs_ftp thread and you will be ok.

EDIT: Also, you will want to clean up any lines in the rc.sysinit.author that were set by tivoscripts regarding mfs_ftp and add in the correct lines manually.

Tivoscripts 1.02 does not install mfs_ftp. You must have used the older 1.01 version that does set up mfs_ftp with port 3150 and not 3105. That is an outdated version which is why Riley requested that it be taken out of tivoscripts, among other reasons.
