been searching and reading throughout the forums (found this thread (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28138) to be particularly informative), but have a special situation and would appreciate any advice or guidance you may have.

i want to run both tuners in my new (to me) dtivo - sony sat-t60 - so that i can watch one channel and record another. ACTUALLY, its so that i can have tivo record MY shows while my daughter watches her shows :D

my dish is a simple round dish with dual LNBs.

the "problem" is that i live on a heavily wooded lot and the nearest clear view of the southern sky is over 250 feet away from my house. i currently have a cable running the 250 foot distance from the dish to my cable junction box and then into the house. from what i understand, to be able to use both tuners, i HAVE to use both LNBs from the dish, not just split the one LNB signal into two lines. once i have both LNBs run to the house, i can use a multiplexor to split the signals to multiple tuners throughout the house.

is there ANYWAY i can combine the signals from both LNBs into one cable run? i really really dont want to have to run another 250 feet of cables (plus inline amps) to the house. i've tried looking through most online retailers (that i know) multiplexors/diplexors listings but cant find anything, so far, that will allow me to combine 2 LNB into one cable runs.

any advice/suggestions? thanks!

Yes, there are devices for this purpose, known as stackers (the combiners) and destackers. They are very, very expensive. Also, the combined signal may end up requiring higher-quality cable and amps anyway. IMHO, you'd be better off just running the second cable.

If you do want to go with the stacker/destacker solution, you're looking at somewhere around $300.

Get yourself some good quad-shield RG-6 cable designed for direct burial. You might want to buy a bulk roll of 1000' so you'll have extra to run throughout the house. Most electrical supply houses will carry it. It's no more difficult to run a pair of cables at the same time as it is to run one. Infact, you may want to consider running at east four cables in the event you should ever decide to upgrade to a HDTV setup. Depending on where you are located you may need it anyway to get your locals. You'll need the oval dish for HDTV which has four cables (actually it has five but the center LNB is combined with one of the 101-degree LNB lines) that will run the distance to your house and then into a 4 or 5-input multi-switch. It's easier to do it all at once then to try and add to it later.
