Hi,

I'm new to both tivo and linux.

I am trying to setup ppp over serial cable on a ptv-300 (series 1 sa). the tivo is running v3 software.

I can access the tivo directly through hyperterm, so the cable is ok.

I have tried searching the forums for similar problems, but it appears most people have problems only when they get past this point setting up NAT & DHCP.

When my tivo calls out with the prefix set to ,#296 I get the following modem log:

Even though the INF file has been modified and the 2 extra lines added as per Otto's great FAQ. It seems to ignore the "~" when the tivo is calling, and just treats it like a modem and answers on the 2nd call, but does not setup ppp.

I'm sure it's something I have not done in XP or something different in my setup.

Any advise gratefully apreciated.

Peter.
