Hey,
I'd been looking for a way to change fonts on my Tivo and I can came across a post mentioning something about removing original FranklinGothicLight.ttf and renaming the new font I wanted to use under the same name and placing it in the same folders. This worked, but it doesn't seem to stick, every time I restart the tivo the font is removed, leaving no FranklinGothicLight.ttf font at startup and causing the tivo to go into a reboot loop. I can unmount/remount the tivo and add the font during startup but this process is tedious and I'm worries about the tivo restarting when I'm not home and missing recordings. I've searched the forums for an answer but can't seem to find one that makes the font stick. I'm hoping there is a way to fix this that I'm just missing but any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Have you considered putting the code in your rc.sysinit file that does that work for you?

Is there some code I need to include in my rc.sysinit file?

Yes, the code you're about to write to duplicate what you do manually to change the fonts.

Ookami, is your Tivo monte'd, or are you using the old /var/hack method? What you describe sounds like the effect of an active initrd. If your initrd is still active, you can't modify the root partition (i.e., anything in the ext2 system but /var, which is mounted on a separate partition) and have it stick.
