Howdy all... I am a newbie to tivo but not to linux. I am trying to go through http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20662 ("Installing Debian on a Series2 DirecTivo") and it as one of the step says to create a ext2 partition...

When I try fdisk I do not see any partitions. What should I do to view the partitions?

For that matter is this hack outdated now that it is possible to monte the kernel? Would it be possible to just use the new root partition and setup debian from there?

Thanks a bunch.

While I am asking stupid questions, using the monte hack the the second /boot and second / are not scanned on boot for evil files (which are not signed or what not)?

Also why does the sleeper iso not install the 48-bit lba kernel that is now around?

I don't have a series 2 and am not familiar with installing the hacks for it. Sorry,
Mikey
