I am using 120 gig hard drive 40 gig cdrive after mfsrestore. after restore done! it says " adding pair /dev/hdc14-/dev/hdc15" and when I try to add hacks it says drive is full I have reformated both drives fresh instal win 98 and image the same results! I have serched my cdrive and cant find them. Can any one tell me what this is or how to get rid of /dev/hdc14-/dev/hdc15?

You are not a hacker. You cannot hack Tivos. In fact you can't even compose an intelligible English sentence.

So my question for you is, why the hell did you post this garbage in the S2 Hacking Forum?? Get the hell back to the NEWBIE forum where you belong.

I've been lurking in this forum for a little while now. It seems like 90% of anything you have to say is worthless whimpering. You need to wash the sand out of your vagina! I guess everyone else here is not worthy of your greatness.

Scottyboy: yes, DB is harsh. And I would rarely defend his inflammatory posts. But don't you think his response was warranted this time? I mean honestly? That post was total NEWBIE material. I'm not saying he shouldn't be asking it. I'm glad that he wants to hack his tivo. Good for him. Granted he should do some reading first and make that evident in his question. Of course, I don't agree with DB that he will never be able to hack his tivo.

The REAL developers would like to keep the Hacking forums clear of newbie questions. That's why the NEWBIE forum is there. And while I'm not a developer, and by the estimation of many who have been scorned by DB, he isn't either, he HAS giving one liners that have been very constructive to those who are developers (and even to the occasional newbie when he is having a good day - a day very much unlike today apparently...) . No doubt he is also a developer but doesn't want to post anything he has done because he doesn't want to support it. That's fine. I'm just glad that there are some here that do want to help the non-elite among us. After all, each and every one of us needed help somewhere along the way.

As a suggestion (to make this a more constructive post), maybe the NEWBIE forum should be at the TOP of the forum list. Maybe you should be restricted to posting only in the NEWBIE and Extraction (since that's a whole different ball of wax) forums until you have, say, at least 5-10 posts or something?

Ehh, that will never work. We'll just have to continue to settle for the Janitor using his firehose to "gently" remove the crap that doesn't belong in the hacking forums.

I don't like the post count idea, it encourages spamming, but I agree that the Dtivo 2 hacking forum is too easy to find compared to the newbie forum. I suggest password protecting the more advanced forums, put the password for this forum in a sticky thread in the newbie forum. That would force people to find that forum first...

Yeah, some people with higher post counts don't know shit about the subject matter, ironically.

Reminds me of my army days when somebody who was rather unskilled in their MOS would make sergeant mostly because of need/longevity, so everybody would call them a "spec 5" instead of an NCO :D Would be funny if there were a similar system in place here :)
