Not sure where you checked, but I ended up calling the local stores in my vicinity, and found out that a few CC are getting additional shipments this afternoon.

I think the $50 difference came from price matched by CC w/ samsclub.com.

2 local CC's refused to match sams clubs price. one says because of a membership fee and the other knew what i was up too. I am going to another store tommarow. Hopefully i can get the sams discount.

Fry's now has this drive on sale. If you can get a copy of their Sunday ad, then you can pricematch the pre-rebate price with that if you've already bought the drive.

This is not a manufacturer's rebate, it is directly from Circuit City, therefore they EAT any discounts they give you. Don't get your hopes up.
Hell, $70 for a 160GB drive? It was still a good deal. :)

I got it! The customer service guy at circuit city tried to pull out a bunch of excuses to not allow me to price match with costco, but I came in there with all of the angles worked out in advance :D
At first he sent somebody else to check if there were any active rebates on that drive, and I just told him that I originally did have rebates, but I waited too long and they expired. Sure enough, he came back and said that there were none. I didn't bring in the drive, because I told him that it was in a PC and it had data on it, so they accepted me just bringing in only the receipt. I told him to call sams club and check the price, and he said that they wont mention the price over the phone. I told him not to worry, because I just verified the price over the phone earlier that morning. To sweeten it all, I pulled out a sales receipt of another unrelated purchase from sams club just to show him the right number to dial.
There were two reasons for the receipt, second one being that he couldn't denie that I did in fact have the ability to purchase from sams club, so the membership card excuse wouldn't work :D . When he first called sams club, he gave up because they wouldn't answer, but he tried again anyways, and eventually he got through and did verify that sams club was selling it for $119.
Knowing there was no way out at this point, he started processing the refund to my credit card, and while he was doing that, I noticed a big sign behind him that said they reduce it to the competitors price, PLUS a 10% added difference, so I asked him for that too :)
Final cost came to $26 for the drive :D
Cherry picking at its finest...My uncle owns a store, and he'd be quite pissed if he found out I did this (he hates cherry pickers)...oh well!

My last rebate check for this finally arrived. For deals that sound too good to be true, this one certainly wasn't :D
