searched, but can't find info on programming remote

I just bought a modded Tivo, and am a total newbie. The first thing I want to learn is how to program the remote ( HRMCT2 I think). I have no installation manuals, and no searching here, or on the net showed me how. How do I program the remote to turn on/off and control the volume on my TV. I just need the Toshiba codes, and how to do it on my remote.

Sorry for such a basic question.
