Best method to hack dual drive?

I upgraded my sas2 a year ago (weaknees - add a drive). I'd like to hack my current setup, I'm fine with sleeper's script, but I'm not sure how/if I can apply it to my situation. I have 2 disks, and I'd like to keep the extra capacity if possible, and I'd also like to keep my recordings (I don't think sleeper's allows that...?)

Let me know the best path to proceed.
