Hello,

I have a friend with a new series 2. He would like to get a usb to wireless adapter or usb to ethernet adapter.

What is best way for him to do this? I am sure there is a guide, but couldnt find it. He would also like to know the best brand to buy. I am sure it would be a 3com or major brand.

In shopping for usb nics I started with those listed here http://customersupport.tivo.com/tivoknowbase/root/public/tv2006.htm?

Then searched this forum to see which of the adapters had available drivers for the OS version I planned to use. You can also take USB2 vs USB1.1 into account.

I was looking at the supported Wireless USB adapters and was wondering if the list is for stand alone Tivo units and Directv Tivo units. I have a Directv Tivo unit series 2 and want to put the sleepers hack on there so I can enable the USB port. I would like to use a Linksys wireless USB Ethernet adapter. Will this work and which one should I buy.
