I've done some reading throughout the posts and everyone appears to be recomending Sleeper's ISO for doing the TiVo Upgrades. My question is, is there a line by line tutorial out there that is specific to the DSR704? I just hooked up the DirecTV TiVo unit earlier this week, completely legit- however 35 hours is just not going to be enough and I would love to be able to grab the data from my broadband connection over my LAN rather than the lame dial-up it currently requires. Also, my PC's Pioneer DVD burner would love to be able to back up the shows for me if I can transfer them over the LAN. I see it is all possible, however I don't want to get a bachelor's degree in TiVo modding, I just want to know what I need to buy, follow the steps, and get it done. I've done similar stuff before, so I'm not intimidated, I just want to remove all the guess work.
HELP!

Thanks, I found it just before you posted it. The site has a good FAQ on the DSR704 and it covers everything except the extraction and streaming of the "TiVo'd" video. I don't think I care so much about streaming, however I would like to be able to copy off the video onto my PC for my DVD-R. Anyone know of one solid URL with all the information?

Check out this site:

There's a link there for a TyTools walkthrough that should get you on your way. It's somewhat outdated because it uses an older version of TyTools in the example and doesn't include the lates frame-accurate editing feature. jdiner also has his own website set up (http://www.tytool.com) that should provide you with all the info you need.

Perhaps there might be some benefit to making this FAQ "sticky". JJ or Vadim, any possibility on making this happen?
