need help to transfer files

HI KINDA NEW TO THIS i got TiVo Web Project - TCL - v1.9.4 i keep getting the error i posted below anyone can help ? i have a tivo dvr40 rca iam using smartftp ver 1 and i get this error Connected to (192..xxx.x.xxx) -> Time = 0ms
Socket connected waiting for login sequence.
Connection timeout. No response from server.
Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)...
dont know what to do know thanks robert :confused:

Have you hacked your Tivo with anything other than Tivoweb? You need tivoftpd installed for file transfers using an ftp program but you also need to install the monte hack so any other hacks will stick. Sleeper's tivoscript will do all of this for you if you haven't already installed it. Note that the DTivo filesystem is configured as read-only after using Sleeper's tivoscript so you need to make it read/write before attempting to upload any files to the Tivo. Make sure you're connected to port 21 for normal file transfers via ftp.
