Look further down the thread for a version that lets you create quick, one-line Emails as well as messages that go into 'Tivo Messages'.

Note: There's very little error checking in this script but it has always worked fine when talking to a mail server on a local LAN. I have since read through the TCS sendmail module that shows how to do it right. I gotta get around to fixing it.
