taking shows off 1 tivo to the other

i pay for tivo and direct tivo i just got the direct tivo and want to put my shows from my other tivo on it how would i do this i pay for tivo too im not stealing

This question should be posted in the newbie forum. The only program that lets you transfer shows between tivos is mfs_ftp. There's a sticky thread for it. There's also a whole lot of stuff that needs to be done to network and hack your Tivos. Start reading... :-)

if i understand you correctly, the only choices to move recording between your 2 tivos are:
1) take the hard drive out from a Tivo and put it in your computer to retrieve your programs to your PC. Not sure if you can stick the 2nd hard drive into your PC and save the recordings to it. Anyways, lots of hard work taking drives in and out when you want to do this
2) you have to install something in your Tivo. Read the "sleeper iso" thread
3) wait until Tivo releases HMO options for all of your Tivos and pay them to enable it
