Sorry for the dumb question...
Do any SA tivos have dual tuner capability (like the Directivos?)

I am looking into going back to cable from directtv and I am hooked on dual tuners and don't think I could manage with a single tuner.

Thanks in advance.

Too bad directv thwarted your efforts to rob them, and now you need to go steal from someone else.

But unfortunatley for you, only the DTV units have dual tuner.

Oh well...

i have not robbed anyone. I am moving in another month and i do not have a clear shot for a satellite.

Where do you get the idea that I'm stealing something?

The new HD Tivo's have dual DSS and OTH (antenna) tuners, but they are very expensive.

As for the other part, it seems you're presumed guilty here until proven innocent.

Yes this will work.

You can hook up the cable to the S2 SA and then hook up your sat. box to the S-Video input.

You would also buy the serial control cable that they sell at Tivo.com and elsewhere so that your SA can control the sat. box.

It will work and will download both guides and operate between them seamlessly.

'cept it won't record 2 shows at once.

No, it seems JJBliss has read the poster's history and you have not; congratulations, you just bet on the wrong horse.

You know exactly what's going on here with the sudden mass exodus from DTV, and you know what the management's position is on the matter. If you don't like it, go back to your DSS kiddie boards and leave us alone.

I see nothing in his post that indicates anything other than a simple question. There was no need for anyone to do anything other than answer it. Why wasn't a recent question about using the P5 on 2.5.2 met with the same level of vitriol? It possibly was driven by the same need, but that poster wasn't slammed, he just got a civil answer.

PS I read his old posts, so what. There are thousands of those types of posts, many as old as his were.

"Evermore?" Quoth the raven. (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?p=32780#post32780)

Granted this forum has a shady past, we want to go legit now.

You are obviously quite unhappy with the fact that Dealdatabase is no longer a haven for FreeTV(tm) activities and advocates. You obviously empathize with individuals who are unable to restrain themselves from drawing attention to the fact that they do not pay for service. And you obviously know by now that the political, legal, and social forces that oppose those discussions are very powerful right now.

So my question to you is: why don't you just leave and start your own 31337 service theft advocacy and TiVo hacking site? I guarantee that you will have no problem attracting the types of people you seem to get along with so well.

This board was a very different place two years ago; the "scene" was a very different place two years ago. Change is inevitable. You can only swim upstream for so long before you realize that the time has come to move on to greener pastures.

There are utilities in development that allow you to resolve schedule conflicts between multiple tivos. When those are released you would be able to use multiple tivos in a fashion similar to a dual tuner tivo. Add HMO to that and it would almost be the same.

I don't wish to detract from your message to BubbleLamp, but your 'cliche' is worthy of Gracie Allen. :)

Now all you have to do is add the cliche about 'beating a dead horse to water, but you can't add the straw that breaks his back'. ;)

Both points are exactly what I was trying to bring out. The guy posted shady stuff 2 years ago, so why does he get attacked in his post this week? Why wasn't he just given a civil answer, and nothing more? That is the sum total of my question.

Because in those two years, he still hasn't learned how to keep his mouth shut. (Sound familiar?)

We don't want to hear sob stories from people who refuse to watch DirecTV because it's not "free" anymore, and we don't want to hear you droning on about how we "should" tolerate them. Take it someplace else.
