Hi.

I have a HDVR2 with 3.1.0-xxx on it, which I have used Sleeper's tivoscripts on. I got a 3.1.1c image off emule, and want to restore that one.

The tivoscripts seems to have created a /Tivo directory on my C:/ (fat32) drive with 3 files; 2.4.4-Tivo-3.0-Original.img TivoBackup-xxx.mfs and varialbes. But my 3.1.1c image has just one .img file.

I assume I will need to drop to the shell via alt-f2 and run the mfsrestore myself. Can I just run the mfsrestore pointing to my 3.1.1c image and not be concerned about the other two files? Then just re-start the tivoscripts after the restore phase?

Many thanks
Glen.

Run the mfsrestore process manually rather than using the automated feature in tivoscripts. Use the instructions outlined in Hinsdale's How To for restoring a backup image using MFS Tools 2.0. You can access the MFS Tools program on the tivoscript iso CD by pressing Alt+F2 when the main menu is displayed. This will get you to the console mode with a prompt so you can run the mfsrestore utility.

You must delete (or rename) the other two files (especially the variables file) before surgery. I usually just move all three of them to a different directory.
