When using the NewPosts function I often get this message when I back page to the list of new posts (after reading one)
vBulletin Message
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
This is quite distressing as then all of my NewPosts list is gone. Pressing NewPosts again results in a very small list of only the NewPosts in the last few Minutes.
Is there a way for me to manually set/reset the date/time that NewPosts looks forward from?
Can I get an explination of what happens here? Does a NewPost list have a limited lifetime and if you don't view them in that period, poof?
Thanks, Lowcarb

I'm guessing it uses the cookies on your PC to determine last visited, then compares it to the time stamps of the posts. Do you run some sort of cookie manager that might be messing with the boards ability to change them on your PC?

Cookie manager. I'm Lowcarb. No cookies allowed. :D
I do use Zeroknowledge Freedom but it does not block cookies.
NewPosts is working to start with.
Here is an example.
I was away for the weekend. This morning I had 5 pages of newposts. I started with the last page, working my way from oldest to newest by selecting a post and then using BACK on my browser after reading it to get back to the new posts list. Somewhere in the middle of the 4th page when I clicked on BACK I got the no matches error.
Now I've got now easy way to find the new post between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning.

Weird, I can do that and it doesn't flake out. Not saying you aren't seeing what you're seeing, but I'm guessing it's a local problem, not vBulletin's.

Bubblelamp,
I CAN do it also, it is just that sometimes it fails. It almost seems like an elapsed time thing, like I only have 1 hour to look at newpost. If I take longer then then that then it eventually forgets.
I just wish I could set my own time (new posts since 11am Monday) anytime I wanted to.
There has been at least once where I read something in a new post, didn't bother to bookmark it, then later that day decided that it was important. It took me longer to find it again then it would have if I could have just reviewed newposts again.

You can always go to Advanced Search and set a date to search on, including Last Visit.

Two problems with that.
1) The granuality of the search from function is Yesterday, 1 Week ago, 2 Weeks ago ...
2) What would I search on? Can't use *. Can use common words like and, the, I as search excludes them.
BTW, it happended again today. Was reading the newposts, got called away for about 4 hours when I paged back, got the same message about nothing matching the search.

Hmm, 4 hours. Maybe it can't count that high! I would also try bypassing the Zero Knowledge stuff. I get different weird problems on this board with the latest version of Ad-Subtract Pro. Took me a while to track down what was the cause.
