Is there any way to remove the ads in Tivo Central on a Series 1 SA Tivo running software version 3.0-01-1-000 still allowing the Tivo to call home this Tivo has a Lifetime subscription not hacked. The only modification currently on the Tivo is to 80gig hard drives.

I tried to do a search first but each time I used search would get page can not be displayed error.

I asked the same question about removing the "Tivo for Mom!" ad and no one seems to know the answer. All I got was use "search". I found nothing other then the "yellow star" threads.

This ad is not in the menuitem as that directory has been deleted. I looked through the whole mfs and did not find it anywhere. Looks like Tivo won the ad campaign and can force us to see whatever they feel. Sucks to have paid for the lifetime subscription and get this crap thrown at us. The tivo low-life’s won't even allow you to delete the ad's after viewing so I NEVER look any more! I just want it off my tivo central and not have to wait till it expires.

There, I spoke my mind...

btw, you will need to put some hack tools on your drive to remove at least the yellow star ad's. No other way to delete other then running MfsRubbishTree /MenuItem from tivosh or changing the expiration.

When I say I found nothing I mean I did not find anything relevant to removing this ad. I don’t have a menuitem directory in the mfs. I also searched the whole mfs looking for this ad and could not find it. So, where is the dang thing. I’m sure someone will come up with an answer after the ad expires this Sunday.

MN's patch kills the code that displays the annoying yellow star. IMHO that is far superior to repeatedly running a script to nuke the ads, but to each his own.

Did you see this thread (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?p=136473) yet?
