How will we receive our updates?

For those of us who can NEVER call in... (fixUP with emulation)-
It seems we will not be able to recieve the 2.5 dualtuner update since it is downloaded via the telephone rather than the dish.


I'm hoping for two things:
1. that we are not locked out of the b0x (or there is a way around)
2. that someone makes a copy available on the FTP!

FTP would be easier - but you'll have to realize you're losing all your recordings. Just get someone to back up with an updated version of MFS Tools that can restore to DirecTiVos 2.5.

You still will be locked out, however there is a chance that the prom won't get updated but it doesn't matter.

Those with stantalone will not be locked out. The only box they are locking down at this time is the Dtivo. From a post that is now deleted on the avs forum. 2.5 will go first to the Dtivos. With 2.5.1 going to the Standalones at a later date.
