Have two T-60s:
Number One: 40 gb drive, never been hacked, fully subbed, lifetime, no recordings on it. Phone line connected, but still running 2.5.2 for some reason; won't update.
Number Two: 120 gb 2.5.2xtreme; lot's of recordings I'd like to keep.
I am learning about extraction on the Number Two box...have bash and Telnet. Ready for next step (mfs_ftp and ty studio) but had a second thought:
Can I swap the drives? Allow the update to 3.1 (which might happen on the Number Two drive in the Number One box), wipe the hacks, leaving me with subbed lifetime box with recordings. That becomes my wifes, lol.
Then use Number One for learning; Start over applying hacks and proceeding with extraction etc.
One thing is unclear to me is whether the Lifetime goes with the motherboard in the unit or the drive.
Any advice on the advisablity/sensibility of this strategy is appreciated.
