I have been having one heck of a time making Tytools turn a .ty file into a DVD. If you are interested in the gory details, check here:

In a nutshell, Everything seems to process correctly, but the VIDEO_TS directory remains empty.

I refuse to give up and thought that there may be something wrong with the files themselves. Would someone be willing to take a look at them? I could make a new set, including the original .ty, the .vob, the .chp, the .key files. I could put them on CD(s) or give someone access to my FTP site. If someone else can make a DVD from them, then there must be something wrong with my setup.

The .ty and the .vob are about 385 mb each. Anyone willing could PM or email me. TIA. :)

I'm no Mac person but I would suggest you go back and read all of the documentation that is included with the TyTools zip file. There are step-by-step instructions for creating the DVD-compliant fileset included in the zip file that should answer all of your questions. There's also a step-by-step tutorial posted at Sanderton's Tivo wiki site. Here's the link:

See my suggestion in that thread. I hope is something that simple, I don't know what else could be.

Could you go to the directory just above video_ts and run make.bat?

I don't know. Can I (lol)? There is a make.bat file there. I don't know enough about this yet to know what running the file does. It's got about 10 lines in it, including paths and things like:
-c0, 300, 600, 900, 1200, 1500 --instructions post=vmgm blah blah.

I did get a brave soul to test my files though. We see what happens.

I don't need to do this on a Mac. I just went in that direction when I ran into trouble half way through the process in PC land. I'm happy to do it all in either platform whichever is cleanest, simplest and provides the greatest learning experience (although I think the process has met that requirement long ago, lol).

Thanks for the tutorial link. I've not seen it before and will start from scratch using it and see what happens. :)
