I have been using windows xp pro to keep my movies stored. The mod that I have been using is the mediaserver which works very nice. Now what I would like to do is change the operating system to Red Hat. Would I still be able to read my ntfs drive if I change the os over?

Current Configuration....
Primary drive...ntfs with windows xp pro
Secondary drive....ntfs with movies

Is this possible or will I have to move the movies to a different drive and then convert the drive to a linux partition and then move them back? I don't want to lose 40 gig of movies.

Yes, most linuxes read NTFS fine. Few if any can write to NTFS.
