What to do? error#51

I get a screen that says hardware problem, you can not record until this problem is fixed problem error#51 DTV says this error means that the hard drive has been replaced. They say I should go to the restart screen and hit clear and delete everything (should take a few hours),will this ruin all the mods? Any idea what I should do? I have upgraded hard drive and added phone call.

I feel like I personally have answered this question a million times before (as well as the million times the other members have answered it.)

It will delete all of your recordings, guide data and to-do list. It will have no effect on your hacks.

Sorry,
I did a search on error #51 and got "Sorry - no matches."
Will clearing help my problem? What should I have searched for? I don't mind searching and reading.

Click on search above and type in error 51 and then hit Return. :) Basically you will get what he told you. Do a clear/delete all. You will lose all your recordings, but your hacks will remain.

Sorry should have searched more. Worked with the search a little more and found more info on #51.

I believe, from what I've been reading, that the clear and delete will work and let me record again.
