Hi all, have been looking all weekend for a 'how to' on streaming
recorded or live tivo files to a PC (also XBox if anyone has it).
The reason I'm after a 'how to' is because I'm new to the tivo (2 weeks)
and don't know a great deal of knowledge about Linux yet, especially the
part about compiling etc... I have looked everywhere and can only find
bits and pieces and forum's that are over 60 pages long on these topics,
so if there is anyone out there that has a how to or is willing to step
me though the installation process that would be amazing !!! If i get a
chance i might even make up a 'how to' !!!
Thanks

If you have TivoWeb installed then you can look into using TyShow with vserver to stream to your pc and watch with Windows media player (or any direct-show enabled player). If you're a Linux user, you can look into the tivo-mplayer project on sourceforge. It still requires vserver to be running on the Tivo. As for XBox, I can proudly say I got that working this weekend. If you have a modded Xbox, then you can use a couple different things. You can use xbmc or xbmp in conjunction with ccxstream on the Tivo. There's also a new tool called TivoX Control Station. Its looking to be a great tool. It uses ccxstream and a python script in xbmc to get a nice interface with some great features. The only down side I've had with it is it requires a module in TivoWeb which seems to hog my Tivo's processor when running. When I have TivoWeb running and try streaming with ccxstream, the cache quickly dwindles to 0% and the stream gets ****y. Has anyone else had issues with TivoWeb and ccxstream running?

When i click on the MFSSTream under tivoweb it shows all of my Now Showing files, and when I go to click on title I can see in the link, but once i click on the link, it can't find it, get a DNS error...

Can you be watching a program that you recorded on your xbox in one room and someone else in another room be recording and watching another recorded program on the Tivo, all at the same time ?

I think you're using a different method than I am. I have TyShow installed and in my tivoweb.cfg file I've added the line
TyShowLinks = 1
Now when I go into the User Interface->Now Showing in TivoWeb Plus, there will be a link next to each show that says "View". When I click on that it opens media player and plays. Of course I have vserver running on the Tivo.

I've watched a program on the xbox while my tivo was recording another show and it was fine. But I have yet to test watching the xbox while watching a recorded show AND recording something at the same time. It sounds like a lot for the tivo to handle. If you try it before i do, let me know your results.
anyone have a good working binary of ccxstream for a sa series 2 tivo? whenever I run the files they dont seem to do anything? anyone have an install prgoram? thanks
