Hi all new to Tivo, even newer to the Xbox thing.... I have got my Tivo (Phillips Series 1) all hacked up and running, fantastic machine should of got one earlier !!

Now my questions are, I am going to borrow a Xbox off a friend so i can see what it is like... I want to be able to watch my programs that I have recorded on my tivo on the xbox (stream it.) The xbox has a mod in it, xecuter v2 I believe. Both Tivo and Xbox are networked. Now what do I need to do get this all up and running, software, hardware etc ? Is there any "How to.." guides around that someone can point me to as well ? (The actual link) Or point me in the right direction, as some of these threads are way to long !!

Thanks.

There are a bunch of threads that talk specifically about this. Try doing a little searching and reading. There's no any easy step by step guide and it's going to take some time and effort. But if it didn't, what would be the fun in it. Just to get you started, look for ccxstream, xbmc and tivox control station

Dude, why are people afriad of of hooking people up??

For modded xboxes and tevo owners without a Umm paddle to paddle with.

The "easy guide = craptastic" is use XboxMediaCenter "f$#&n rocks" for the xbox operating system dashboard on your xbox "dashboard=3rd party XML based GUI". Then install a Tevo client/server python script in your xbox's \\xbmc\scripts\ folder and on your modded tivo for client|server nervana.. :)

Python Scripts

XBMC dashboard for xbox.

the offical xbox hookup. ShhShhH
1. IRC into EFNET. 2. Connect to xbins channel. 3. type in "/msg xbins !list" without the quotes. 4. They'll auto-reply with a username and password for the everything xbox FTP site. ftp what you can fathom and go. "start with /XBOX/apps/media players/Xbox Media Center (XBMC)/xbmc-2004-09-25.rar". Unrar it and FTP it to your friends xboxs apps folder.
2. add the xbox pyton xbox's pyyton script to the xboxes \xbmc\scripts folder. and the tivo script to your tivo and walla. :D

Stupid people, don't try to make this thread sound stupid. <you>

Its not too bad, if you already have a modded xbox with XBMC running.

I have hacked my Tivo, but it took me days sitting down with reams of paper, so I left it alone and forgot all the controls etc. So getting ccxstream on took a bit of thinking (and searching on here), but got there in the end.

And its so worth it! I thought it would be unreliable, and maybe lock up the Tivo from other use, but it seems fine. I can watch one previously recorded program on my Xbox in one room, while the other half watches something else directly from the Tivo. Its a great little front end - highly recommended

What's the quality on the xBox playback fellas? I have a HDVR2 and an xBox. Both hacked. It wouldn't take much to throw those apps on there. Just don't want to waste the time if the playback on the xBox is cheese.

The link below pretty much covers everything I needed to know about getting a Series 1 TiVo running with an XBOX. I used this guide today, end to end it took me maybe an hour.

Assumptions are:
1. You have a modded XBOX.
2. You have a hacked Tivo. This guide assumes a particular image, but it should work for most images.
3. You already have some form of network connecting the two devices and a PC on that network.
4. Basic PC knowledge.
