My DirecTivo (DSR6000) was just upgraded to 3.1.0c and, among other issues, I now can't view any of my old programs because the unscramble hack was removed...

Before, I believe I had used a command similar to:
dd if=/dev/hda6 of=/dev/hda6 bs=1 skip=468 seek=550524 count=2

but this was for a different kernel version... Does anyone have the latest unscramble kernel hack for 3.1.0c?? (3.1.0c-01-1-001)

Thanks a lot,

-David

I thought the direct hack was supposed to not encrypt the shows and not mark them, so they would always work.

Anyways here is how to fix them: http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showpost.php?p=173340&postcount=84 and http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showpost.php?p=173371&postcount=88 .

Here is how to make new recordings nonencrypted: http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showpost.php?p=172974&postcount=47 .

See that thread if you have any other questions on 3.1.0c

Still haven't had any luck, even following these links. I've done what appears to be the correct hack multiple times (restarting from tivoapp.orig each time) but I still cannot view my old recordings. At this point, I don't really care whether or not the streams are encrypted, I just want to be able to view all of my recordings. I saw something that might repair the streams, but it requires mfsextract which I couldn't find anywhere.

Any more suggestions? I'm leaving tomorrow for a few weeks (was hoping to have it all working for my roommate), and I only have time to try maybe one or two more things before just giving up until I get back.

Thanks...

-David
