View Full Version : How to get DSR6000 to dial out with EXT2.5

I have a DSR6000 which i recently subbed. It has Xtreme 2.5 on it. How can I get it to dial out and call home. I need it to make a monthly call. Does something need to be disabled via Bash? If so.. how can it be done?
As it stands.. Its a lifetime sub and the receiver will not call out to the best of my knowledge...

Bump for help..
If the Extreme2.5 cant be altered to actually allow callouts... can somebody tell me how I can return the drive to stock condition. I do not have a backup.

A hard drive imaged from a stock 25xtreme image still had to have a few bash commands executed before it will not call home, if I remember correctly. Its been so long since I had to deal with this, I'm not sure.

Quick and easy #1 - find and download xupgrade.zip. This will upgrade to your choice of 2.52 or 3.0 and install xplusz. (You must be at 2.52 or above to receive local channels.) Xplusz enables / disables various hacks via the remote control, including the hack to bypass calling in.
Quick and easy #2 - check for a file in the /etc directory named subtest. If it exists, delete it.
Quick and easy #3 - AFIK, the system will always attempt to make it's monthly call to DirecTV. The hack only disables th call to TiVo.
