Exactly the kind of thing that makes this the ideal tivo drive :D This is probably the best consumer level EIDE drive you can find, and at the moment it's also one hell of a deal. They also warrant it for a shock of up to 350g's...this hard drive must be durable as hell, especially with the 5 year warranty, seagate must have lots of confidence in their drives.

Just took back the 80GB drive. Twice the size for the same price I paid, can't beat that! Anyone know if there is a Seagate utility to limit the drive to under 137GB? Do I need to really worry about this? I'm using the Sleeper ISO. I'm trying to be safe as possible this time because somehow I managed to kill the 80GB drive.

Wrong forum. "S2 support" forum will lead to better and more informed answers.

However...

Is there an LBA48 kernel for S2? I just did this with an S1 using a 180GB drive. You just have to make sure you're using the right kernel.

BTW, if you trashed the 80GB drive, it was for another reason.

FANTASTICK!
This is just the Dealio I have been waiting for. 8MB Buffer was the clincher for me. CompUSA was out of stock, outpost has free ground shipping.

This dealeo is still live today. I couldn't justify ordering it until I realized that I STILL DON'T HAVE A HACKED XBOX!!!! So I ordered it and found some d00d that will hack my Xbox with the new drive and lotsa "goodies" installed.
