NewEgg has the NEC 2500A dual format DVD burner with black faceplate for only $60.50 plus free shipping. This drive can be upgraded with hacked firmware for dual layer disk burning capability. Links for the hacking info are included in the above discussion. I just bought one and I absolutely love it. It not only burns all recordable DVD formats (except DVD-RAM) up to 8X but also burns CDs at 32X. I never thought I'd actually retire my venerable Pioneer A03 but this drive is a steal!

Update: I just checked the NewEgg site and they are no longer offering free shipping with this drive but they're only charging $1.99 for FedEx Saver Shipping for a grand total of $61.99. They do show them as being in stock as of this posting. One other site in the price listing has them for $59.95 with free shipping but NewEgg is an established e-tailer with a great reputation. I've bought from them in the past and they are much better than most on-line vendors I've dealt with. Definitely worth the extra 2 bucks, IMO.
