View Full Version : split huge(8GB+) .ty file for further processing

In order to capture a "marathon", I manually recorded 11 hours of television under one show. While I pulled the 22GB file off my tivo fine, TyStudio appears to be 32bit limited and can only see the first 8 GB. Is there a tool that I can use to safely split up the big ty file into say 3 chunks so I can then do further processing on them? Thanks for the tip. jake

Use tyTools and just extract it in "parts".

Use tyTools and just extract it in "parts".

Or use tytool and extract the whole darn thing in one chunk. Most all of the "big file" bugs were fixed in tytool.

Forget TyStudio and switch over to TyTools. You can specify how large of a file you want to extract or you can use TyileSplit (not part of TyTools) to cut the large ty file into smaller segments after the large ty file has been extracted to your PC.
