fortunately I have an easy way of finding out exactly what they will be doing with my email address :D

I normally make an email alias per vendor/website. I've bought stuff from buy.com for many years. I've never recieved spam on the alias that they have. The only alias I ever had to shut down because of spam was for rockler.com. Spam for porn, of all things...

Seems they just forward orders to Kingston and therefore have no idea of the inventory.

They just gave me a lame excuse about it taking up to 48 hours to process orders. If they knew what they were doing, it should be instantaneous. :mad:

I would never buy from buy.com ... they have terriable reputaion of shipping weeks late. Or canceling orders with out notice.
