Stopping and restarting myworld/Tivoapp

I have read that stopping myworld/tivoapp using the

switcherstart -k

command can greatly increase transfer performance. However, I have 2 issues:

1. using the switcherstart -k just reboots my system. ANy idea what I am doing wrong?

2. I have not seen posted how to restart myworld/tivoapp without rebooting. Can this be done?i
