Try to fix my “2.5-lack-of-locals-problem” by upgrading to 3.1.

Read one HUGE thread for an hour “dtivo locals - The one, the ONLY”. I think I’ve got the point. One problem…

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m seeking for “3.1 Tivolater” or “Superzaps 3.1” but I can’t seem to find either of these files hosted on the web. I could not find the files on any Per to Per file sharing network either.

Does anyone know where I can find either file? Does anyone suggest a preference between “3.1 Tivolater” versus “Superzaps 3.1”?

I need the image to burn to a disc because I’ve only ever been able to hack via the “swap HD and hang’em off the PC” method.

I’m only doing this to gain my locals which don’t exist in my guide at the moment (even though I’m paying for ‘em).

Thanks,
Cedor

Superzap's xupgrade includes the xPlusz suite of hacks whereas Kraven's 3.1 Tivolator is basically a barebones upgrade to 3.1. You can find the xupgrade.iso file here (ftp://tivo:later@ftp.twinbrothers.com/).

Thank you very much for the link.

One more question (to anyone really):

Will either of these upgrades (specifically the SuperZaps) allow me to upgrade to 3.1 from 2.5 without lossing my present recordings?

Thanks,
Cedor

Both will allow that

Thanks! all but...

I did the 3.1 upgrade strictly to get my locals in the guide menu.

Well now I have them, but the say "channel not available" when I select them. Darn! I have three other receivers in the house and they all get the locals.

Furthermore, I had them from this very card just the other day when I had DTV deactivate my one receiver to turn up my Sony SAT-60 Tivo. But even after the successful, upgrade to 3.1 I still can’t SEE my locals.

Sometimes it takes overnight for them to show up correctly.

Unfortunately, it's now been 24 hours and still, “channel not available.”

Any ideas for a solution?

Thanks,

Just out of curiousity, why not call DirecTV and ask them to help you?

Thanks to all who help... I actually recieved my answer in another thread.

It turns out all I need to do was:
Use the clear and delete function from the on screen menu. It took a few hours (I went to bed) When I woke up - low and behold I have my locals. Thanks again!
