Alright so I've spent the past day and half going through this forum looking for info that would help me in my quest. I'll find a good scent but the trail eventually leads to a deadend.

I had a HDVR2 which started to act up to where the picture would freeze and would loose all remote functions. I would reboot the box for only to happen again as soon as a picture was displayed.

So---

I bought a new DSR704 to replace my HDVR2 and would like to save the recordings that are on the HDVR2 (The HDVR2 had a hardrive added for additional space)

How can I pull the recordings off the HDVR2 to move them to my new DSR704? IF not possible.... How can I move the recordings from my HDVR2 to my PC and save them in MPEG format? I have a media server that can play MPEG files and serve them over my network and play them on my TV's.

Part 2 (Networking) I found a website that explains how to add a network adapter to the USB port on the back of the Series 2 DirecTivo.. GREAT! Question is what Wireless Adapter works best with the drivers on the sleepers CD? I also read that the sleepers CD is no longer accurate, is this correct?

Thanks,
Greg

Unfortunately none of the above is possible unless you hacked your HDVR1 and disabled encyption... All of the recordings on your HDVR2 are encrypted and tied to the HDVR2....
