I have a series 2 Tivo in my family room. I want to be able to control my tivo from upstairs on my bedroom tv so that I can watch either live TV or watch recorded shows from the family room Tivo.
What works the best and also where is the best place to get the extra Tivo remote?
Thanks,

Hacks or no hacks?
With hacks, I'd recommend getting an Xbox or using a PC [if you have one in your room already] to stream shows from the Tivo. That would be ideal, IMHO.
No hacks, you're looking at a remote control extender. I've heard bad things about the cheapy pyramid-shaped jobs you can find at Ratshack and Walmart. I personally use a Radio Shack RS 15-2117 remote, which is an 8 device, universal, RF & IR, programmable, learning, JP1-capable remote. I love it. $30 new, if you can still find one. (http://support.radioshack.com/productinfo/DocumentResults.asp?sku_id=15-2117&Name=Remote%20Controls&Reuse=N ... they don't sell them online anymore)
and also where is the best place to get the extra Tivo remote?
Tivo.com, or you can buy 'universal' remotes that can control a tivo from anywhere. The URC-6131 even has Thumbs Up & Thumbs Down buttons. It's about $13 from bluedo.com. They used to have it at Circuity City too, but I can't find it now.

Don't forget that in addition to a remote control extender, you'll also need a modulator in order to broadcast / distribute your Tivo output on a specific channel throughout the rest of your house.
In this way, you can tune to a specific channel on the TV in your bedroom to watch the contents on your Living Room tivo.
That is, unless you simply want to run a cable directly from your Living Room to your Bedroom.

To convert your Tivo remote into an RF remote look at:

Also, look into cheap X-10 modules for sending video from one room to another.

Just to expand this thread...
I'm learning here. I have a friend who sends video around his house by other than wireless networking means, but, I haven't really tried to get a handle on it.
If all this stuff works, why would anybody worry about HMO and patches, or even a second tivo, for that matter?
I guess I'm saying that I got another tivo, and paid the sub price, just to watch tivo'd material from another room. Sure, I can record that many more programs at the same time...but,
What's the best path? Hack 2 tivos? Just 'share' the content from another to the second room?
I'm considering getting ANOTHER tivo for a third room. Should I just send the video around? I think I'm just looking for advice to clarify what I really want to do. :( :).
