My Turbonet card seems to have died. Sigh. All of a sudden I can't ping or telnet into my TiVo.
I've successfully reinstalled all software in the TiVo hard drive
several times now but am still unable to even ping into the unit. My
Linksys router DOES seem to see it at 192.168.1.102 but that's all I'm
able to do.
Any advice?
Thanks a lot.

What makes you say this?
There's a module loaded that should detect the card
type "lsmod" and "ifconfig" at the bash prompt and print the results.
EDIT: <slap to the forehead> Duh!... you can't telnet can you?
Try running these commands an logging the results
ifconfig > /tmp/ifconfig.out 2>&1 &
lsmod > /tmp/lsmod.out 2>&1 &
It's a PIA because you have to suffle the drive but it may give clues.
Maybe 9th tee will let you have a discount on a cachecard if you send them your bad turbonet.
Also, make sure it's seated properly.

In windows do an ping 192.168.1.255 -n 100 which will ping your entire subnet and then do an arp -a to see if you can determine the correct ip address.
Or go in via serial and do the ifconfig and try to ping the interface and the router.
And 9th tee does do trades on "defective" hardware (tip dont use superglue to hold a loose airnet card on board) at something like 40% ie if $100 item they charge you $60 to replace.

A replacement turbonet will cost you $30 with trade-in of the defective unit. Before you return it I would suggest checking all of your ethernet connections by swapping the existing cables with known good cables. You can have a bad connection and still see a connect light on both the turbonet and the router. Don't forget to check the cables to your PC as well.
did you get a software update, or have anything else happen to the TiVo?
try a static address for troubleshooting.

Thanks to everyone. Somehow, I guess during a DTIVO update, when the partition changed none of the files I had thought were copied over were in the switched partition. Teach me a lesson!
I'm grateful to everyone for their help!
