View only device - S2, TCD24004A - as view only device without subscription

If I cancel my Tivo subscription on my HDVR2, I cannot record more, but I can watch what I have already recorded.


Can I remove the hard drive from my HDVR2 with unscrambled shows and 4.1b on it, put it in a TCD24004A, run 51killer to kill the "error #51" nag without doing a "clear and delete everything", then watch the shows on from the HDVR2 without having a subscription on the TCD24004A?


I do not want to record with the TCD24004A, just let the kids watch the same kid's shows over and over again.

Yes - you can remove the hard drive from a HDVR2 with unscrambled shows and 4.1b on it, put it in a TCD24004A, then watch the shows on it from the HDVR2 without having a subscription on the TCD24004A. You do not need to run run 51killer.
