I've been hacking HU's and emulating H's for awhile now - just getting into TiVo -

From your experience - what's the best unit - and the best way to go about it?

best way to go about it: use the search function and read read read.

best unit: the units are virtually identical. dtivo looks better since it doesnt re-encode, SA tivo is universal, and works with cable and dish/E* as well as dtv.
