I have been reading forums for weeks and there are so many different hack with different stability issues.

I am thinking about applying killhdinitrd and XPlusz
My goal is to get rid of the Daily Call as well as add ethernet and serial bash.

Is this the way to go or is there a better way?

Also, Should i upgrade my kernal to 4 or stay with 3.1.1?

you have an RID unit, you won't be able to run 4.x

Or xPlusz, for that matter, as it's for an S1 not an S2

So killinitrd is the only thing, what about the NOPHONE and NOPPV is there another way to do that?

what about loading the WUSB drivers?

You need to do more reading (S2 specific reading) my friend..

This guy has a very simple walk thru (though it could have been simpler..) as you dont need to do the dd and mounting craziness.
