Hey folks, I'm having a couple of problems with my S2 Dtivo. I promise that I have READ AND READ AND READ, but I still haven't found a solution to my issue.
I have MFS_FTP running and I was using that to do extractions and then vpslit9r16 (thx TyTool) to mux it out.
This was great UNTIL the .ty files I started getting from MFS_FTP are not quite right. That is the longer files seems to have bits of other files in them and can't be vsplit properly.
HOWEVER TyTool9r17.exe works VERY well, but I can't use it to extract via command line.
Is there something simple and obvious I'm missing here?

The part you are missing is that the CLI counterpart to tytool is vsplit. It is included with the tytool distribution so just check in the directory that you extracted tytool to.

Can you use vsplit9r16.exe to extract directly from the tivo?
I've got no problems using it to split the ty files once I have them extracted. It's extracting valid ty files I'm having the problem with. MFS_FTP is producing files that are not correct.
I'm looking for another tool to extracty the ty files from the tivo.
Once I have the .ty files on my system I can split them up and roll with them, no problem.
Thanks, Rob

vsplit can extract too. It can do everything that tyool can except for the GOPEdit stuff. It can even use cut files created with GOPEdit if I remember correctly.

Evidently I missed the memo on extracting via vsplit?
Is there a a thread or documentation lying on extracting w/vsplit?
Thanks for the help, didn't even know what I was missing

Maybe I'm the one missing things. I take back my comment as I can't seem for the life of me to find the extraction options that I thought I remembered. Either my mind is failing (more likely) or maybe the functionality was removed (very unlikely). Anyways, sorry for wasting your time.
